PURCHASE HISTORY / RESTORE
New device or reinstall: restore from Purchased
Shadowrocket purchase history is linked to the Apple ID used to buy it, not to a particular iPhone. When switching phones, reinstalling after removing the app, or installing it on your iPad, first use the original purchasing account to find your purchase. Eligible previous purchases can normally be downloaded again at no extra cost. If the listing still shows a price, check your purchase history before confirming another purchase.
- Open the App Store, go to the account page in the upper-right corner, and confirm the Apple ID currently used for Media & Purchases.
- Open Purchased and look for Shadowrocket. Depending on your system version, the app list may be under “Apps” or a similar label. Open your purchased-items list using the option shown on your device.
- If needed, view apps that aren’t on this device and search for the full app name. Once you find it, verify the developer and app identity before using the redownload option.
- After installation, open the app and check whether your configuration has been restored. If it hasn’t, import your existing subscription or server details again, then test the connection.
If a price appears, check the account first
A common cause is that the new device uses a different account for Media & Purchases, or that the account region or purchase history doesn’t match what you expect. Check your original receipt and App Store purchase history to confirm that you bought Shadowrocket, then compare them with the account on your current device. Seeing the app icon on your Home Screen in the past doesn’t prove that the currently signed-in account owns the purchase.
If you’ve confirmed the purchasing account and purchase history but still can’t redownload the app, keep the App Store message and proof of purchase, then use the Apple Support option on your device to resolve account or transaction issues. When describing the problem, include the message and steps you took, but don’t share full payment details, account authentication information, or connection credentials. Family Sharing eligibility, membership, and restrictions depend on the App Store listing and your account status; they don’t replace checking the original purchasing account.
Restoring the app doesn’t necessarily restore all connection details
Redownloading restores the app and its purchase eligibility. Whether locally saved servers, subscription URLs, configuration files, and personal settings remain available depends on the data on your original device and the actual restore result. Before switching devices, save any details you need. After switching, check them one by one. A subscription that updates successfully doesn’t mean you’ve selected the right server; after importing, check the selected item, Global Routing, and system connection status.
If a subscription update fails, first check that the URL is complete, the service is still active, and your current network can reach the address. Troubleshoot this separately from restoring an App Store purchase. Once the app is restored, buying it again won’t recover missing connection details.
